Rob Dickinson grew up the son of a painting contractor in the Southern Adirondack Mountains of New York. After college, his skiing obsession, like many others, led him west to Colorado. In 2005, he founded Precise Painting, as a way to create summer income until he could return to his ski industry jobs. Remembering that, “you don’t want to work in the ski industry – you want to PLAY in the ski industry!”, he pursued his painting company full-time serving the Denver Metro Area. In 2007 Rob met Sydney while skiing at Loveland Basin, and they soon started making plans together. Their main focus was to move to the mountains and during the “Big Winter” of 2008 they fell in love with Crested Butte. In June of that year they made CB their forever home and Rob went to work on establishing Precise Painting as a go-to company for painting services in the Gunnison Valley.

Sydney Dickinson grew up in Dolores, CO, and attended college at CSU in Fort Collins, graduating with a degree in Health and Exercise Science. She moved to Denver after college for a job in medical research. Her skiing habit eventually caused her path to cross with Rob’s, and they quickly found their way to Crested Butte to enjoy some of the best skiing in the state! After working at the Alpineer for many years, and working locally for Eleven Experience and Colorado Backcountry as a Ski and Mountain Bike Guide, she began to help out with Precise. At first she would fill in painting when needed, but this evolved into office tasks like; payroll, job-costing, and invoicing. She is now the Office Manager of Precise Painting and Steadfast Flooring Solutions, and the glue that holds the whole show together.
